Grand Hotel Sofianu & Spa - Ramnicu Valcea

The staff here, particularly the waiter in the restaurant, were very professional, and the location is stunning.

Generally, the place was exquisite and had competent and excellent staff especially the waiter in the restaurant. The location for Ramnicu Valcea was perfect, not far from shops, a glamorous art museum of different work of artsmade by a lot of contemporary artists from all Romanian regions and Zavoi Park.

Nice comfy base for 2 nights with very helpful staff, especially the waiter in the restaurant. Magnificent and absolutely perfect location in a well-kept area close to a pond, fountain, a nice park, especially for children, and an art museum. - Nearby L'artista Pub is a great place to chill out.

I have stayed here before and enjoyed the experience, I know some rooms overlook an industrial yard and ex-socialist residential blocks so I requested a room with a garden view (the hotel fails to advertise the ugly rear facing view) when I made the booking. On arriving we were given a yard view, when I commented this was not what I requested the receptionist replied "you can look up to the sky" rather rudely. They had garden rooms available that I had requested but she refused to exchange, with an attitude unbecoming of a hotel of that standard, very unprofessional infact and I felt insulted. I suspect that because I paid a discounted price that I didn't deserve full price treatment. I wont be staying there on my return trip, or ever! Modern Hotel with old communist standards methinks.

Good location in an rather typical Romanian town. Nothing of any interest in the town but hotel fine for a stop over. Lovely outlook into the park. Very good rooms with excellent bathroom and decor.

Very mediocre breakfast that was hardly replenished and this was before 9am. Not good at all.

The staff here are very professional, especially the waiter in the restaurant, and the room was spacious, it's in a great, central location which is convenient.

The hotel was a fantastic surprise, it is majestic in appearance, the service and staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. Will definately stay again.

My small gripe is the rear view from the room, it overlooks an electricity sub-station and its work place, not what i expected from its otherwise excellent location.

Hotel is located in the close vicinity of the city centre, close to the nice park

My room was fashionable and well-organized, with great facilities and a lovely view of the park. the hotel's location was excellent, with attractions like Mircea cel Batran Park just a 10-15 minute walk away.

This location is perfect and exceptionally nice, especially with close proximity to Mircea cel Batran Park, and there is a really nice restaurant for dinner and breakfast here.

the breackfast was a bit limited, insufficient veggies and fruits, no juice

Hallways and stairways were dark and automatic lights did not respond fast enough.
